Flag Rugby

Youth Flag Rugby is an excellent opportunity for boys and girls in grades 1 to 8 to compete in tournaments across Wisconsin as part of the Wisconsin Tag Rugby Summer season.

The non-contact version of rugby teaches the basics of rugby including passing, running with the ball, communications and teamwork in an inclusive and safe environment.

Madison Flag Rugby

The Madison Flag Rugby Club was founded in 2017 – the natural evolution of Madison United Rugby’s youth program, which began in 2010. We strive to provide an enjoyable and safe introduction to the sport of rugby! Rugby can be a great addition to your child’s personal and athletic development. It’s a fun and active sport. Everyone carries the ball and learns passing, kicking, catching, and team and space strategy. Rugby skills carry over to other sports, as do our standards of fair play and civility. Flag rugby is the ideal way to learn the game!

Our player/coaches are from the Senior, Collegiate, and High School clubs of Madison United Rugby. But playing experience is not necessary to be a good coach, and we are actively recruiting parents to help out by learning to coach. All coaches are trained to the SafeSport standards of USA Rugby.
