Flag Rugby
Youth Flag Rugby is an excellent opportunity for boys and girls in grades 1 to 8 to compete in tournaments across Wisconsin as part of the Wisconsin Tag Rugby Summer season.
The non-contact version of rugby teaches the basics of rugby including passing, running with the ball, communications and teamwork in an inclusive and safe environment.
Monona Grove Flag Rugby

The MG Silver Eagles are entering their 6th season in 2026 with participation flourishing along the way. Summer of 2025 saw more than 100 players between 1st and 8th grade.

Practices are twice per week at the Wisconsin Rugby Sports Complex with tournaments on Saturdays throughout the state.

Attending every tournament and practice is NOT fully expected. This program aims to introduce the sport of rugby the right way while sharing its values and aiming for fun!

Sign up for the Monona Grove Silver Eagles flag rugby progamme is through the Cottage Grove Parks and Rec department.

Madison Flag Rugby

From 2017 through 2025, the Madison FRC brought flag rugby to elementary and middle school girls and boys at several sites in the Madison area. With the development of the MG Silver Eagles and the “aging out” of FRC leadership, we are stepping back from direct programming, and focusing on supporting other youth rugby clubs and individuals.
We will continue as Major Sponsors of the Wisconsin Boys HS Championships, Girls HS WISCO Sevens, and the Middle School Rugby Fest. We will also continue our sponsorship of
local select-side players in their travel and development at the regional and national level.
The annual Rugby Legends Golf Classic and Brazilian BBQ Dinner is our major fundraiser. We have a great host site at the Meadows of Six Mile Creek GC in Waunakee! Our grill master is Fabulous!! You make it a lot of fun!!!
This year will be our Tenth Annual event. The date is Friday September 11, 2026. Please click on THIS LINK to request more information.
