Wisconsin Rugby Sports Complex
After decades of dreaming and fundraising, the Wisconsin Rugby Sports Complex (WRSC) broke ground on its Clubhouse in May, 2021. The WRSC is a Championship level facility, offering locker rooms, training facilities, referee rooms, a banquet hall, and balcony viewing overlooking two full sized pitches.

Madison United Rugby's mission is to support the growth of its member clubs as they achieve their individual goals, while maintaining a premier infrastructure as a platform for the rugby community in Dane County. Guided by the values of the sport, MUR will prioritize youth participation, membership health, and the growth and awareness of rugby in the community.
MUR is known nationwide for providing the utmost positive and supportive environment for rugby while fostering excellence through education and infrastructure. It provides a premier rugby experience for its community, is a highly desired national destination for events, and develops outstanding, committed, and value-driven members for today and future generations.
The WRSC facility proudly offers:

Two full sized match-day rugby fields with a lush carpet of grass, including the John Sanders Championship pitch

7,000 square foot Clubhouse with 2,600 square foot event center and viewing decks overlooking each pitch

A bar, 210 square foot kitchen, four locker rooms with showers, training facilities, and both indoor & outdoor restrooms

2008
Madison United Rugby founded
Madison United Rugby (a 501c3 non-profit) was founded to develop the sport of Rugby in Dane County, WI. MUR owns and operates the Wisconsin Rugby Sports Complex in Cottage Grove, WI which was home to two beautiful rugby pitches, with dreams of a future Clubhouse and championship match day facilities.
2014
Clubhouse 2020 Capital Campaign
After years of planning and fundraising, a final capital campaign was kicked off with the goal to raise $1.6m to cover the construction costs for the WRSC and to seed a sustainable budget for the operations of the facility. The campaign was generously supported by members of the MUR community.
2020
Clubhouse breaks ground
After over a decade of fundraising and development the Clubhouse broke ground in Spring on the 8,000 sq. ft., two-story clubhouse with the goal of completion by Fall of 2022.

Opening Day
A very special rugby day in Wisconsin rugby community as the Wisconsin Rugby Sports Complex has its official Opening Day for the new clubhouse in Cottage Grove.
