Wisconsin Rugby Sports Complex

After decades of dreaming and fundraising, the Wisconsin Rugby Sports Complex (WRSC) broke ground on its Clubhouse in May, 2021. The WRSC is a Championship level facility, offering locker rooms, training facilities, referee rooms, a banquet hall, and balcony viewing overlooking two full sized pitches.

The Clubhouse 2020 Campaign

Nearly 13 years old, the Wisconsin Rugby Sports Complex is the thriving home to our MUR member rugby clubs – Youth Flag through Senior Club. It’s also one of the country’s best competitive athletic grounds, welcoming other community athletic events such as hurling, soccer, and bicycling.

Since its inception, MUR have striven to make the WRSC the premier rugby location in the midwest.  The current 8,000 sq ft, two-story Clubhouse is the result of a decade of careful planning from rugby community leaders. The Clubhouse 2020 capital campaign was a truly grassroots community effort on the part of the members, supporters, and friends of the Madison United Rugby family of teams.

The WRSC facility now proudly offers:

  • Two full sized match-day rugby fields with a lush carpet of grass, including the John Sanders Championship pitch

  • 7,000 square foot Clubhouse with 2,600 square foot event center and viewing decks overlooking each pitch

  • A bar, 210 square foot kitchen, four locker rooms with showers, training facilities, and both indoor & outdoor restrooms

  • Outdoor pavilion with seating

  • Bleacher seating for 1,000+ spectators
